With SafetySense, the 8825-3 can detect an obstruction on any part of the door while opening or closing to protect not just you, but your door and its surroundings. The 8825-3 is a medium-duty commercial model operator with a 1HP motor capable of running sectional overhead garage doors that are up to 240 square feet in size and 1200 pounds in balanced weight. It is also customizable with its track configurations such as low headroom, standard lift, high lift, and full vertical lift.

We make the motor assembly to only contain the motor, two pulleys and one belt, for an all-around quieter operation. The 8825-3 only requires 7” of side clearance and 3 ½” above the center of your spring shaft, meaning it can be installed in places where space is limited. The operator is NEMA 4 rated for water/moisture resistance and offers many built-in features like an auto close timer, cycle counter, and service due reminder. You can also add a multitude of auxiliary items to the Zap 8825-3 like interior/exterior lighting, additional wall controls, swipe card devices, dock equipment, motion sensors, alarm systems and more. Installation only requires one person with a ladder to install the motor assembly on a spring shaft. There is nothing that mounts to the wall, jamb, or header area. The Zap control box requires only four screws to be fastened to the wall near the door for installation. Power it up by plugging the operator into a nearby outlet in your garage or shop. Please note that an electrical pigtail is required. Finally, run the door open and close two times and the 8825-3 will set its fully open and closed positions for you automatically.
