StormShield 2 Peel & Stick Garage Door Threshold

Keeping leaves, dirt, pests, and the weather out of your garage can be a pain, but with Action Direct's Storm Shield 2 Peel and Stick Threshold Seal you can keep such infiltrations outside! Our seal installs on the garage floor right where the door closes, and when paired with any bottom weather seal, the threshold seal will create a nearly impenetrable seal. Made with EPDM, the threshold seal can withstand temperatures from -40º Fahrenheit to 150º Fahrenheit. They also meet the California Fire Marshal and CPAI-84 flame resistance requirements. Measuring 3" wide, a 1/2" hump sits flush against the bottom seal of the garage door.

Ordering Storm Shield:

Our Storm Shield Peel and Stick Threshold is sold by the foot. To ensure you get the proper length, please measure the width of your garage door and add that to the cart.

Installation:

1. Lay the Storm Shield® from vertical track to vertical track. If necessary, cut per dimensions from outside of vertical track to outside of vertical track.
2. Mark Storm Shield® to be notched by aligning end with outside of vertical track and marking in line with inside of track.
3. Align Storm Shield® with jamb against vertical track and mark backside of vertical track as shown.
4. Cut X portion to notch Storm Shield®, repeat for the other side.
5. Use a lint free cloth to clean floor with Acetone, as it will aid in removing moisture from the surface of the concrete. If Acetone is not available, Pine-Sol® can be used. NOTE: If using Pine-Sol® floor must be completely dry before applying Storm Shield®
6. Snap a chalk line from jamb to jamb at the location that the door meets the opening when closed.
7. Install Storm Shield® along chalk line removing liner and patting the seal down 6-8 inches at a time. ONCE STORM SHIELD® COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE CONCRETE IT CANNOT BE RE-POSITIONED.
8. Garage Door Should be lowered on Storm Shield® and allow 24 hours for adhesive to take a set. Use a small roller to aid the adhesive in making contact with the floor if possible.
