Custom Garage Door Torsion Springs – Up to 40"
Restore your garage door's performance with custom-cut replacement torsion springs designed for reliable operation and long-term durability. Each spring comes with a life expectancy of approximately 10,000 cycles, making it a dependable choice for residential or light commercial garage doors.
These replacement springs are cut to your specifications and shipped with cones pre-installed on both ends for faster, easier installation.
Important: Always replace both springs at the same time. When one spring breaks, the second is likely near the end of its lifecycle as well.

How to Measure and Order
Wire Size
You can determine your spring’s wire size using:
-
A caliper or micrometer
-
A wire gauge
-
Or by measuring 10 tightly compressed coils to the nearest 1/16" and referencing a wire size chart
Measuring 20 coils is also recommended for confirmation.
Inside Diameter (ID)
Measure the inside diameter of the spring (not the cone) to the nearest 1/16".
Common manufacturer markings or cone part numbers can help determine the correct ID:
-
134 or 175 = 1-3/4" ID
-
258 or 263 = 2-5/8" ID
Spring Length
Measure the spring when fully unwound.
If the spring is broken or warped, count the number of coils and multiply by wire size:
-
120 coils × 0.250 wire = 30"
-
120 coils × 0.375 wire = 45"
Winding Direction
Do not rely on which side of the door the spring is mounted to determine winding direction.
Most cones are color-coded:
-
Red cone = Right-hand wound
-
Black cone = Left-hand wound
