The CPICARD interface module allows monitored safety devices to be connected to a non-monitored operator, expanding compatibility without requiring a fully monitored control system.

When used with monitored photo eyes or monitored safety edges, the CPICARD monitors the entrapment protection device only between the sensor and the interface module. Monitoring does not extend to the operator itself.

Because monitoring is limited to the device-to-interface connection, systems using the CPICARD do not meet the requirements of a fully monitored entrapment protection system. This makes the module suitable for applications where device monitoring is required, but full system monitoring is not available or not necessary.

The CPICARD is commonly used in retrofit or upgrade scenarios where existing operators need compatibility with newer monitored safety accessories while maintaining proper signal supervision at the interface level.
