This Overhead Door Chain Hoist (Direct Drive) is engineered for operating large, heavy-duty commercial and industrial overhead doors. Designed to mount directly to a 1-inch shaft, this unit provides manual operation via hand chain when power operation is not required or available. The kit includes a 26-foot hand chain, 1 chain keeper, 2 shaft collars, and a 1/4" shaft key. The system requires a minimum 5-3/8" offset from the shaft centerline to the wall and features a sprocket with an 8-13/16" outer diameter for optimal torque transfer.

Installation Overview

Shaft-Mounted Units (1:1, JR-ST, JR-RD, JRG):

• Mount unit on the shaft; align door sprocket with small 9-tooth sprocket
• Use set screws and shaft collars to secure the unit
• Install roller chain using connector link
• Optional wall bracket prevents unit from swinging

Final Steps:

• Loop the hand chain around the pocket wheel
• Chain length should hang ~1 ft from the floor
• Use pliers to open and reconnect the hand chain loop
• Install the chain keeper to hold chain clear of door opening
