Replace worn or broken extension springs on your 7-foot overhead garage door with these premium, heavy-duty replacements. Designed as counterbalances, extension springs make it easier and safer to lift and close your garage door while reducing strain on your garage door opener.

These springs attach with an S-hook to the stationary brackets that hold the horizontal tracks, with the opposite end connected to a pulley and safety cable assembly. As the door closes, the springs extend to absorb weight; as it opens, they retract to assist with lifting. When open, the initial spring tension holds the door securely in place on the horizontal tracks.

Key Features:

  • Fits 7 ft. tall residential and commercial garage doors

  • Springs sold individually — two required per door

  • Handles door weights from 40 lbs to 300+ lbs

  • Heavy-duty steel for long-lasting performance

  • Compatible with pulley and cable assembly systems

  • Easy installation for garage door repairs or upgrades

How to Select the Right Spring:

  1. Check the color code on the end of your current spring to find the correct weight.

  2. Measure your door height (these springs are for 7 ft. high doors).

  3. If the color code is unknown, weigh your door following the recommended safe method.

For best results and safety, always replace both extension springs at the same time.
